What is used stock?
Expo Direct operates alongside Expo Hire, a leading commercial furniture hire company. As Expo Hire regularly rotates its extensive stock, replacing older items with new, the outgoing furniture is made available for direct purchase here, offering a sustainable alternative to auction or scrap. All items originate from demanding commercial hire use, not consumer storage, ensuring robust quality. Each piece undergoes thorough cleaning and inspection; items meeting our quality standards are listed with detailed condition notes, while those failing inspection are removed from sale.
Condition grading
We do not use a generic grading system for our used items. Instead, every product listing features a comprehensive written condition note detailing the specific state of that item — including any scuffs, frame marks, fading, or functional wear. We strongly advise reading the listing carefully before placing an order. For larger batches or specific concerns, please contact us for additional photos or details.
Pricing
Our used stock is consistently priced at a significant discount compared to its new equivalent. The precise price for each item is clearly displayed on its individual listing. We do not employ separate grading tiers to influence pricing; instead, the listed price directly corresponds to the actual condition as detailed in the product notes.
Warranty
All used items come with a 90-day warranty covering structural defects. This warranty period is shorter than the 1-year warranty provided for new stock, acknowledging the items' previous commercial use. Please note that cosmetic wear explicitly detailed in the product listing description is not covered.
What types of stock are typically available
Our inventory of used stock is dynamic, continuously changing as Expo Hire updates its fleet. While specific items vary, the types of robust event furniture that commonly become available include:
- EventPro® Folding Chairs — black and white, sold individually or in batches
- EventPro® Tolix Style Steel Chairs — various colours depending on which hire stock is retiring
- Banqueting tables — 4ft and 6ft rectangular, folding leg
- EventPro® Full Steel Tables — fixed-height, suitable for indoor and outdoor use
